The Combined Defence Services examination is UPSC's graduate entry to the Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy. One notification, but not one examination: IMA, INA and AFA candidates sit English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics, while OTA candidates sit only English and General Knowledge. Beyond the written stage, all candidates face the Services Selection Board -- five days of psychological testing, group tasks and interview that recommends a small fraction of those who reach it.
